Our addictive cinnamon sugar smoked almonds are everything you’re drooling for right now. The sweet cinnamon sugar crunch makes it nearly impossible to walk away from so be sure to have your self control reeled in!

I have become quite addicted to smoking food. Maybe it’s because I’ve finally learned how to do it myself or maybe it’s because the smoky flavors are just THAT GOOD. Either way, that’s what led us to this recipe. Sure, I love smoked meat just as much as the next person but I wanted something sweet this time around.
Cinnamon sugar almonds, or candied almonds, have always been a favorite. I use to make them in my crockpot and think they were amazing. Let me tell you – that old recipe has nothing on this one!
Egg whites and vanilla extract are used to coat the almonds to hold the cinnamon sugar to them as they smoke. The crunchy texture with just the right amount of salt is seriously addictive.

This recipe is so good that you may consider gifting it to all of your peasant friends and family who do not yet own a smoker. Just kidding, don’t call them peasants. Even if that is what they are. 😉
Try these gift size mason jars to fill with smoked almonds and show off to your friends!
Smoked Almonds Recipe
This recipe specifically walks you through making cinnamon sugar smoked almonds. That is definitely not the only way to season almonds on the smoker! Try savory blends such as Old Bay smoked almonds or olive oil and sea salt smoked almonds. If you’d like to keep with the sweet but try something new, try adding pumpkin pie spice for a taste of fall.
Smoked Almonds
Ingredients
- 1 lb raw almonds
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- pinch nutmeg
Instructions
- Start your smoker and set to 220 degrees.
- Place foil onto a large baking sheet. Spray with a non stick spray.
- Combine the sugars, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg in a bowl. Set to the side.
- In a separate large bowl, whisk the egg white. Once frothy, add the vanilla extract and continue to whisk.
- Next, add the almonds to the egg white mixture. Carefully toss to fully coat.
- Pour the cinnamon sugar mixture onto the almonds. Again, carefully toss to evenly coat almonds.
- Pour the almonds onto the lined and greased baking sheet. Spread into an even layer.
- Place almonds on smoker and let cook for 1 hour.
- Remove almonds from smoker & immediately separate from foil using a spatula. A metal one works best here. Once almonds cool, continue to break apart large clumps.
- Serve and enjoy! Store left overs in mason jars or an air tight container.
